Recognizing the contributions of small businesses, employees and the self-employed, for more than 50 years the President of the United States has proclaimed National Small Business Week to celebrate resilience, ingenuity and creativity of entrepreneurs in rural, suburban and urban communities across the country.
Isabella Casillas Guzmán, director of the Small Business Administration (SBA), announced that National Small Business Week (NSBW): Building a Better America Through Entrepreneurship, will take place May 1-7, 2022.

Events will be held during these days to recognize SBA partners for their support of business development, disaster recovery, government contracting, financial development, and general support of small businesses and entrepreneurship.
According to SBA data, more than half of Americans own or work for a small business, helping to create approximately two of every three new jobs in the country each year. In addition, there are currently more than 32.5 million small businesses in the United States. Small businesses represent 44% of economic activity.
To ensure that the dream of starting a small business is within everyone's reach and doesn't become a nightmare, the summit will have access to critical federal resources, educational workshops and networking, giving entrepreneurs tools to navigate the troubled waters of economic recovery.
National Small Business Week is considered one of the most important events to recognize the contribution of small businesses in the US It is more than an opportunity for entrepreneurs to meet and interact, it is also an opportunity to achieve the American dream of owning a business.
